New Employee Safety Training (NEST) Employees are trained to identify, eliminate or minimize the hazards they will face in the workplace. We train employees to respond to emergencies that could develop in the workplace and they are informed about the emergency response equipment that is available for their use. We emphasize the importance of reporting all incidents and STOP WORK AUTHOTRITY. NEST SAFETY TOPICS MAY INCLUDE: Access to Medical Records Accident / Incident Reporting Investigations Accident Prevention / Warning Signs Tags Asbestos Awareness Behavioral Based Safety Benzene awareness Blood Borne Pathogens Confined Spaces Disciplinary Policy Electrical Safety Emergency Action Plan / Evacuation Emergency Response / Hazwoper Energy Isolation (LOTO) Federal Motor Carrier Initial Fire Prevention / Use of Fire Extinguisher First Aid First Aid / CPR (CPR Instruction only–Hands on training must be done at WSI OFFICE) Flammable / Combustible Liquids Global Harmonization Harassment / Discrimination Hazard Communication Hazard Identification DOT HM-126 Hot Work Policy Hydrogen Sulfide Awareness Injury Management JSA / JHA Lead Awareness Management of Change Noise / Hearing Protection Norm Personal Protective Equipment Process Safety Management Respiratory Protection (Fit Test & MedQ must be done at WSI OFFICE) Rigging / Material Handling Substance Abuse Awareness Training format includes the use of topic related videos, power point presentations, company policy reviews and instruction from an experienced instructor including question and answer sessions. All training material is verified by a test that includes a statement of understanding or skills demonstration. Employees receive a 45 day temporary printable card, until WSI mails a wallet certification card for training received that includes the training subject, training date and instructor’s signature. All training documents including sign-n-sheets are returned to our customer for filing. A record of the training is logged into our database and a record or Safety Training Matrix is developed for tracking training and conducting make-up training. (In order to take this course you must be signed up through WSI for online training)
