2108 Hydrogen Sulfide Competent / Respiratory Protection (No fit test)

Hydrogen Sulfide z390.1 Compliance: Employees will know and understand the hazards and characteristics of Hydrogen Sulfide Gas.  This includes how one could be exposed during the job scope being performed as well as the signs and symptoms of exposure to H2S. Employees will be trained to H2S exposure levels, parts per million, physical effects, toxic effects, engineering controls, personal/ fixed monitors, along with alarm signals, daily / monthly bump testing, contingency plans, rescue procedures and techniques, and safe work practices for working in H2S atmospheres.  ANSE z390.1, API RP 48,56,68 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910. 

Respiratory Protection Certification:  Employees will be trained in the protection against respiratory hazards such as dust, mists, fumes, vapors, and gases.  Employees will know and understand the written plan policy than covers specific procedures for types of respiratory selection, respiratory use, medical evaluations, fit testing, engineering controls, inspection of respiratory, storage, cleaning, repairs, disposal, and required record keeping.  This training complies with 29 CFR 1910.134 and other applicable federal and state safety standards related to respiratory protection.  (If required, must contact WSI to schedule fit test with respirator).
